Our History
Home Savings Bank was established in 1886 as a service corporation to help home buyers. At that time our name was Chanute Building & Loan. Our primary business was real estate loans, but we offered savings accounts as well. Borrowers were able to buy homes, savers earned interest and we began the steady growth that Home Savings has continued to see today.
In 1960 our name was changed to Home Savings Association and a new building was constructed, which is where we reside now. From the beginning, we have been providing sound financial services to the Chanute, Kansas community.
The knowledge and expertise that Home Savings has gained throughout the years has formed a solid foundation for our operations today. We offer lending services and deposit services, and much more! We strive to offer convenience for our customers from drive-up windows to night depository, ATMs and Internet Banking. Security is of the utmost importance. Accounts at Home Savings Bank are insured up to $250,000 by the FDIC.
Our years of experience and service are complemented by a dedication to personal assistance. Home Savings believes that customers come first, regardless of the size of the transaction. These ideals are upheld by our staff. Our personnel enjoy working with people and giving our customers the personal service that they deserve. Home Savings wants our customers to know that we appreciate their business, and the close contact with customers makes our work more rewarding. We have developed strong ties to those that we serve and strive to perform to the highest professional standards.
